Family Feud

When we heard that there was going to be a family feud competition for humanities scholars, my roommates and I set aside that night, in hopes of scoring big. We met up with our mentors and had dinner before heading over to Hagerty hall for some good old fashioned family feud fun. When we got there, only slightly late, we grabbed a bag of complimentary popcorn and took our seats. We started off with some really good scores and we racked up the points as each new round started. Just when we thought we might have a chance of winning, Ben announced the start of the TRIPLE POINTS ROUND. Unfortunately for my teammates and me, we did not do very well once the questions started to get harder; we ended up getting fourth place or something like that. Even though we didn't win, we had a lot of fun and it was a great way to just relax and enjoy ourselves after a hard day of classes.

  1. I also attended the Family Feud Humanities event...alone! Even though none of my roommates were able to make it, it was nice to spend some time with our mentor group. The game was fun even though we didn't do too well. I definitely want to do it again next year!

  2. I also attended the Family Feud event, and found it to be a creative and fun way to connect with our mentors. I enjoyed how all of the questions came from our answers on the sign-in sheets throughout the year. Plus, I got to win an awesome Humanities Scholars slinky (even though it unfortunately does not slink down the stairs as I had been expecting it to)!

  3. The Family Feud event was one that I had been very enthusiastic about attending. It was a chance for me to get together and have fun with my roommates (and my mentors, who I always seemed to miss when they are around) and get intense. The competition was fun (even though some of the answers left everyone frustrated). I believe my group got 3rd place (don't hold me to that) and the slinky prize was the best.

  4. The Family Feud event was one that turned out to be a lot of fun. My group decided to goat the last minute and I'm glad we did. It was a really fun way to connect with our mentors (it seemed more effective than the scavenger hunt) and get an idea of the most popular things in the Humanities Scholars. It was just a really nice break in the winter quarter monotony. Plus our group won a prize :)

  5. I also attended the Family Feud event and my team was the team that won. It was a fun way to get to know and talk to our mentors a little more. Some of the questions had really interesting answers that i would not have expected. My group seemed to not really be leading most of the time, but then out of no where our answers to the last question (Describe OSU in one word) got us to win it all. My roommate and I picked the Humanities folder as our gift while our mentors took the slinky. This was just a cool way to interact and bond with other people in the scholars program.
