Luma Mufleh
I'll admit, I had a hard time getting the motivation to actually go to hear Luma speak. But once I was there, I was so glad I went. There were a ton of people there and the energy was great. Though she said she got nervous doing public speaking, she did a great job. I could tell she was very passionate about doing everything she can for the Fugees. I could also tell she felt frustrated with the lack of help and support they've had, which I can totally understand. But despite her frustration, she still has a great attitude and sense of humor. Listening to her and her story was really inspirational. I enjoyed hearing the whole story in her words, not Warren St. John's. It was overall a great experience.

I loved going to see Luma. I went with a friend and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was interesting to hear things from Mufleh's perspective. I loved hearing about her background. Her childhood seemed so different from that of an American's, she had a ton of servants like maids, chauffeurs, cooks, and nannies. When she stayed in America after college she gave all that up. Especially when she decided to start the fugees she was rather poor. It didn't matter to her though because she was doing something that she loved, coaching soccer. She said that now she measures success not by how much money someone has but rather if they are happy or not. I think that is really inspirational and it makes me think differently about how I judge others success.
