English Conversation Partner

This is the second time that I have done English Conversation partner. Last quarter, I had Jose, from Venezuela. This quarter I have Meng, from Taiwan. It's very interesting. She really likes to know about American culture and how we speak, etc. She is really nice. I believe she is a graduate of Business or Engineering. One of those. I really enjoy talking to her and I hope to do this again next quarter.

  1. I also took part in the program this quarter; I remained with Zhe, my partner from last quarter who is from China. We went to the Chinese New Year Celebration together, and I took him home over a weekend in February to see what small town life is all about in Ohio (he has never been outside of Columbus in the United States). Despite my intentions of convincing him my hometown was a most unsavory blend of industrial farming and manufacturing, he loved it. On the entire way home, he sang (to me?) in Chinese and really belted it out for one song which had a refrain of "Oh, I love you so much". He's headed back to China soon but I'm glad his trip will be filled with dreams and nightmares of Findlay,Ohio.

  2. This quarter, I partook in the english conversation partner program, which was a great experience. In the fall, I had a great time with my partner from china and I had a similar experience this quarter. My partner, this time, was from Japan, and she was a lot of fun. She enjoyed movies, music, and basketball...so we had a lot in common. Talking with her was always fun because she was very eager to learn more about american life. Hopefully I can keep in touch with her throughout the rest of the year.
