Conversation Partner!
I LOVE my conversation partner! He is so wonderful and our weekly talks are some of the best parts of my week. My partner is from Saudi Arabia and I've never met anyone from there! I love asking him questions about his country and his life there and he loves answering them. Last week we showed each other pictures of our families and our homes. It was so great to see where he comes from and I've even learned all of his siblings' names. He is one of the coolest people I've ever met and am so grateful we are actually friends! I would recommend this program to anyone!

This was my second quarter participating in the English Language Conversation Partner program. My partner this quarter is a visiting scholar from a graduate school in China. She is so interested in learning about American culture and she absolutely loves being at Ohio State! Her roommate is an international student in graduate school here at Ohio State, and she is also from China..so it's like I have two partners! They are really great people and are from different parts of China so it's great to get two different points of view about life as a student in China. We meet for a couple of hours as often as we can on the weekends, and just this weekend, they made me traditional Chinese food (which I've never had) and taught me how to play a really cool Chinese card game. It was really fun! This weekend we are going to play scrabble with some of my "American Friends" so they can practice their English and their spelling. This really is a great program for students who are interested in making new friends from places outside of the US, and also for learning a lot about other cultures. I definitely recommend the program to all!
