50-ft Banana Split
Last night, on the Haverfield ground floor, a large group of Haverfield residents came together to make a giant banana split. We assembled the masterpiece with rain gutters covered with foil, and held up by chairs. We then filled it with ice cream, syrups, and whipped cream. I spent about an hour assembling the piece with the other Haverfielders and had the wonderful work payed off with some delicious ice cream. One of the most interesting parts of this night was meeting other residents of Haverfield, primarily PSLers. While I have a natural rivalry with the group because of the Humanities blood that runs through my veins, I had fun. I met new people, chatted with some that I already knew and had a great time enjoying the company of my neighbors. Overall, it was a delicious success!

The 50ft banana split was a fun experience! It was great to continue to get to know the other Humanities Scholars but also to meet some of the PSL students who share Haverfield. I loved working with the other scholars to create a giant banana split; it was a delicious way to spend Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteI also went to the 50ft banana split with some friends. It was cool to meet some of the PSL scholars that I've never seen before, and it definitely was a great way to spend Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteI can only speak to the one foot that I ate, but the 50ft banana split was a success. As far as college traditions go, it's one of the strangest I've heard of, but that is probably what gives the Hav its magnanimous character. I'll have to come next year to partake in this unusual challenge.
