Bill Nye

Last week OUAB had Bill Nye the science guy speak at Ohio State.  I'm a big fan of Bill Nye and always was.  He talked a lot about science and space, but he also talked about his personal projects.  One big project was energy conservation, and he had several interesting ideas about this subject.  Also, he was involved in putting small sun dial on mars, which he seemed very passionate about.  I loved when he talked about his show and the making of the opening credits...he was so funny!  Hopefully OUAB can bring more funny speakers like Bill Nye in for next year.

  1. I understand why the post above is so short because really all that needs to be said is Bill Nye the Science Guy. He was funny making jokes about his age and college students but yet he was still educating us. The part about his sundial all started with him making fun of his dad's obsession with earth sundials that led into how photos are taken on Mars. He talked about how the first cameras took photos with a blue sky because its understanding of colors was becoming messed up so they put a sort of color wheel on the next rover for its camera to look at everytime it takes a picture. Bill Nye said the first time he saw this adjuster it looked like a sundial to him and that is why the rover landing on Mars August 6th with have what he calls a Marsdial. :) Not only was he still teaching us about science but he was teaching us to never stop learning and always stay curious and to "Change the World!"
