Explore Columbus

Two weekends ago Laura, Celena, Erin and I ventured out into the city of Columbus. Since Celena works at the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland she really wanted to take us to Cosi. We were trying to figure out how to tie a science center in with the humanities when we walked to an exhibit called Progress and we found our answer. This exhibit was very interesting and was all about the history of our country and how it changed and evolved with technology and scientific discoveries. We started in a room that was set up as a street corner in 1898. Each room proceeding was the same street corner in a different era, all the way up to 1962. We observed how the carriages turned into cars at a gas station and how the Apothecary store turned into a pharmacy. It was really cool to see how Cosi tied science in with history. Not only was Cosi a fun experience in itself, but it was nice to take a trip off campus and a break from the busy college setting. We had a really fun time exploring Columbus!
