Mentor/Mentee Scavenger Hunt

The scavenger hunt was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it more this year than last year, partially because I knew the answers to the clues, but also because I knew my peers better (fellow mentors, and group we teamed with). The weather was lovely, and it was fun to introduce the mentees to Ohio State, and where different places are located. The time seemed appropriate, and popsicles are always a delicious way to end a group activity!

  1. The scavenger hunt was really a fun time and totally a different experience from last year. Last year, I was new to OSU, knowing nothing about campus while this year I can participate in figuring out the answer. Our group is a combination of sophermore mentors of different groups since our mentee were too busy to come. But it is still fun and we took a lot of good pictures. We might not be the group with most points since we didn't finish all extra points, but we were actully first group to collect all pieces and arrive Haverfield! proud of my groups and my friends!!

  2. I thoroughly enjoyed that Mentor Scavenger Hunt! Though my mentees couldn't make it to the scavenger hunt, I had a great time attempting to win with my friends. We participated last year and it was such a great experience that we had to do it again this year. The weather was fantastic! It may have been a tad easier for us this year actually knowing the buildings too, but alas, second place was it for us!

  3. The mentor scavenger hunt was a great way to bond with my mentees. I really enjoyed running around campus with them and showing them some of the most memorable places on campus. Thinking back to our scavenger hunt from last year, we told our mentees to come prepared...we were going to win. Although wearing athletic gear, somehow we were still beaten by a handful of groups. Not only did the popsicles refresh us from our run around campus, but I also felt like I knew my mentees better than when we had started. Our mentor group's goal was to form a connection with our mentees, and the scavenger hunt was a great way to begin the year!

  4. The scavenger hunt was great even though my mentees could not attend. My friends and I decided to do it anyway and ran around until we found every bonus clue and puzzle piece. It was great!

  5. I went to the scavenger hunt, but unfortunately my mentee's were not there. The scavenger hunt last year was a lot of fun, however, and I was looking forward to spending the day with our mentee's!

  6. This was a great event for the beginning of the year. It was fun to be with friends and have a good time around campus. Like others, my mentees did not attend, but it was a great way to spend a day. This year was easier because I knew where everything was and understood the clues! I'm glad I could do this event and can't wait to do it again.

  7. The scavenger hunt was super fun this year. It was a great opportunity to meet the mentees and for them to get to know us. We had a lot of fun wandering across campus and getting stumped over some of the clues. The only thing that brought us down was the fact that someone was stealing all of our puzzle pieces so we all but gave up halfway through. Aside from that downer, it was an awesome experience and the popsicles at the end were amazing!

  8. The scavenger hunt this year was much less awkward than last year. It was fun to take my mentees around and watch them find places for the first time since they stepped on campus. Trying to let them find the clues was entertaining to say the least. After cleaning up some scattered pages of a book someone dropped, we met someone with one of the cutest (yes, I said cutest) puppies, ever. The tour of campus, puppy, human pyramid, and a few O-H-I-O pictures made it a good experience for the mentees as well as Anil and I.
